Workshop Wednesday #24: Numberplates and Stickers
Thanks to BL at Holland Reclame for the Hoodlum Society tank stickers, just in time. I like the way the numberplates came out on the 1100 Flat Tracker, simple but just fine. Now it's time to ride the bikes, no more building till Wintertime, just some adjustments and small repairments (or bigger...). Enough to do but no major changes soon.

Liberator show Today and Tomorrow!
Don't have a clue how to bring 3 bikes to this show, even if its only half a mile from my shop but I will be there today at 15:30h and the whole day tomorrow. I will bring some Hoodlum Society stickers for you!

Workshop Wednesday #23: Flat Tracker is ready for a testride!
The XLH1100 Flat Tracker was treated with some "finishing touches": Heat shield underneath the polyester tank, Fork Bleeders, Homemade tankmount from a door hinge, Gas cap vent, Valve caps, Fuel lines, ODI grips with Alu BMX Barends and rear #plates. Tomorrow I'm going for a testride, the LIBERATOR Show this Saturday is only half mile from my workshop but its still far to push the bike and very embarassing of course. I'm very happy I made it this far, thanks to Royal Jack for the excellent paintjob, Haan Wheels, TMV, JH MX and the Hoodlum Society.

Workshop Wednesday #22: Flat tracker electrics done.
Electrics on Harley's are not that complicated but you can make a mistake in no time and looking for weeks to solve it so I took it easy and did it step for step and it seems it all works now except for the Kill switch but I have to figure out how that works tonight. I was looking for a nice way to hide the headlights and after watching hundreds of "Flattracker/dirttracker/streettracker" pictures I never saw a good sollution, better said: THEY ALL SUCKED! I hate lights in the numberplate so I came up with this Motocross Enduro lights under the numberplate, I can even adjust them and the high/low switch is hidden behind the ignition key. The Choke and ignition key got company from a green LED to show if ignition is on and the small starter button so I still have no cables on the handlebars like a real Flattracker should be, plain and simple. Royal Jack shipped the paintjob today so next week I'm ready for a testride. Nine days before deadline is not bad at all.
Happy Birthday Bro!
It took two years to restore this 1982 Kuwahara ET and today it came back to the ground. ET gave it back to my brother Bart as a birthday present. Yes he liked it!

Workshop Wednesday #20: Biltwell Bars, Grips, Seathinge and Seatpan
Today was a pretty good day for the XLH900: Rear fender is ready (sissybar under construction), Seathinge is installed with a temporary Biltwell seatpan. (Duane Ballard is doing the leatherwork right now). I have some Biltwell bars with Biltwell Kung Fu grips for now till I have a longer clutchcable to install the Frisco bars. Waiting for the frontaxle which is being reduced from 3/4" to 5/8" so it will fit the 21 inch Mini Brake wheel.
Next up is installing the Frontwheel and tank so I'm almost ready for the first testride....

Workshop Wednesday #19: Mini Brake front wheel
Got the Mini Brake front wheel in the workshop today. Also new Biltwell Helmets/Grips/Risers/Seat hinges/T-shirts and more in stock now, check our webshop with lastest additions. Need to change the frontaxle from a 19mm to a 5/8" or change the wheel bearings from 5/8" to 19mm, make some spacers and fix the brake plate and the bike is "safe" again, well at least "Safer". The rear fender is going to be fixed with front caps of a Tioga bicycle stem and is pretty original, at least I never saw this setup before.

Royal Jack was in the house!
Royal Jack visited the Hoodlum Society yesterday and he took the polyester Tank and XR seat of the XLH1100 home to give it a cool paint job. He is a very talented guy and I trust him all the way to make this an awesome paint job. Flat Track bikes don't need a fancy paint job but Royal Jack will make it just right.
Welding is not easy.
Today I had another "Welding Session" and I must say my skills improved 100% since General Wheels gave me a two hour course last Saturday. It's far away from perfect but I'm satisfied with the results so far. I'm even out of Argon gas so that means I practised a lot, let the Welding Games begin!

Workshop Wednesday #18: Biltwell Seat Hinge
Today was a productive day: I made a holder for the Tig Torch from a BAVARIA BEER thing that I stole years ago from the local bar. Another picture of the KHE Pegs, Biltwell seat hing welded to the frame, not good enough to show the welds so I grinded it smooth to cover that up, need more practice before becoming a S&M welder. And out of the blue the Serial Frame Number showed up 67XLH2135 so now I know it is the original frame and engine! More to come tonight.

Workshop Wednesday #17: Tank problems and Peg solutions
Tank problems: Which tank do you prefer? The Schapekoppen Coffin tank with Royal Jack paintjob or a sportster tank with new paint? Please let me know.
Pegs are installed, I like em very much. The brakepedal was slipping so I don't know if Nito had Suicidal Tendencies but with no front brake and no rear brake it is pretty dangerous on Dutch roads..... Fixed the problem so far, no test rides yet but it seems that the weather is going to be better soon.

Workshop Wednesday #16: XLH1100 Flattracker is rolling again.
If you can't take the chain to the cleaning machine, bring the cleaning machine to the chain! After 15 years its the first time I cleaned that chain, yes it was necessary...Same for the Brakedisc, it looks like new with some 3M scotchbrite.
Fast mock up how the bike will look, lots of things to do but I like it so far, next up is Electrics, rear AMA #plates, Grips and sorting out what shocks I'm gonna use on this bike.

Workshop Wednesday #15: XLH1100 Front End is ready!
Here the frontbrake set up: Moto-Master Supermotard Flaming Racing disc with adaptor and Brembo brake with Moto-Master brakepads.
This is the total ready front end: KTM03 SX125 forks, Universal Triple Clamps, K180 Dunlop Tire, Moto-Master disc/adapter/pads, Ufo fork protection, Universal Bars and Clutch levers, Brembo brakelever and brake pump and soon to be mounted Aluminium AMA size #plates in official size. Headlights???
Clutchcable on the XLH900 was too short for the Biltwell Frisco bars so I have a new setup for the Universal Clutch lever, don't know if it works but if you see a Japanese dude riding with this setup you know he stole it from the Hoodlum Society blog hahaha.

Workshop Wednesday #14: GIMMY A BRAKE!
Moto-Master SuperRETARD Racing Flame Disc two tone, floating and BIG! The XLH1100 is going to make some stoppies!
Moto-Master Adapter for Brembo KTM SX125 Frontbrake, it took a while to figure out which one I needed but the guys at TMV helped me out and it was an easy job.
UNIVERSAL MX Clutch lever made suitable for the 1986 HD Clutchcable, I was thinking for months how to do it and today I made it with only a drillmachine and sandpaper. Will be polished so it will look like the other clutch lever. Original HD Clutchcable and HD nylon pivot will be used so it will work just fine.....
