Workshop Wednesday #16: Biltwell Moto Goggles with Face Mask.

Biltwell moto goggles are awesome, I never liked to ride with goggles on choppers but after seeing Rouzer Rob, Keith Mulligan, McGoo and others riding the EDR with them I kinda dig them now. Very comfortable and keeps dust/rain/mud out of my contact lenses all the time. These anti-fog lenses are really working and today I fitted an Oakley Face Mask from the early 80's. You might not know these face masks but they were the 70's full face helmets in Motocross and BMX. The Oakley is using the middle hole in the Biltwell goggle frame and made two new holes to a perfect fit. The Scott Face mask will fit the two outside holes and need some adjusting on the inside ones, no big deal. I rode these masks in the 80's and will ride with them again in the near future. Biltwell goggles in stock now in Silver, White or Black frames and dark replacement lenses are on its way from the Biltwell headquaters.

Workshop Wednesday #15: Duane Ballard Leather custom works.

Today I dropped off my seat for the 72 Ironhead at Duane Ballards workshop in Lake Elsinor Ca. Duane is a master leather worker doing seats for big names in the Chopper world but also for unknown builders like us. His work is the best so this modified Biltwell Pan is in good hands. It won't be ready tomorrow but its worth the wait, for the time being I picked up a Biltwell Slim seat at the Biltwell office today.

Workshop Wednesday #14: Electroline 82 light

Bought a NOS Electroline Model 82 light from the FLAKEKINGS. This is excactly the right light for the 1967 Ironhead. Of course not street legal but I will make it work so the cops don't know what's wrong about it. I'm off to Los Angeles to visit Duane Balard for another seat, Biltwell for fresh parts, VANS for new shoes and more stuff if I still have some room in my bags. So we are closed from Friday 17th till Monday 27th of February. Have a good Carnaval/Holiday!

Drunken taillight by Hoodlum Society

"What shall we do with the drunken taillight? Early in the morning"
Don't know if its a winner yet, but I will put some velcro on the Pro-Tec drinking flask and stick it to the taillight and will see if it holds. Officer: thats extra fuel to bring me home...

Workshop Wednesday #12: New guitar for Boyds Ironhead.

The guitar (FENDER I mean) is painted with "Glitter spray from the Hema". This time I took my time and did it with patience.  A: Grinded, drilled, welded the fender and pre-fitted on the bike B: Little bondo and primer C: one layer of "putty" D: two layers of Hema Gold E: three layers of Hema Glitter and F: three layers of Hema clear coat: Total cost: Euro 35,00 for the whole paintjob! It's hard to make pictures of this, it makes the camera crazy with all that sparkling Hema Glitters...

Bubble visor bike

It took a couple of months but today I found a picture of the first copy of my bubble visor windscreen. This bike was exposed at the Verona show in Italy. I told you before: this is going to be the next hot thing!
