Today we visited the Flake Kings' new workshop, luckily they had a photo exhibition of Ken Nagahara so it was double worth the visit. Thanks for the hospitality, your workshop is really really nice.

VANS is the only shoe I wear.

Since 1982 I'm wearing VANS shoes, had a couple of "others" but since I started Paul's Boutique BMX its VANS only. Over 100 pairs to choose from and all black, thanks VANS for the years of support!

Headlight changes

I cracked the Electroline 82 lightbulb so had to find a 4 1/2 inch insert for it and found a "Tomas/Puch" light that fits good enough for now. Of course it didn't fit but I made it fit but not really satisfied so I'm looking for a real thin 4 1/2 inch glass/reflector for this headlight. 12V Mainlight/Hi beam, prefer the E4 version.

Harley-Davidson Weekend "LIBERATOR" 2012 was a blast, its half a mile from our workshop and its always a hassle to bring all our bikes to the show, even if its a 5 minutes ride. This year they also had a "Brommercross" for 50cc and 70cc bikes and our 5 year old son Boyd rode 2 moto's on his electric bike and won the "environmental price". Everything was well organised and even better than last year, can't wait for the 2013 edition. With Boyd winning that price it was up to mom and dad to spill some oil on the ground: Carry showed up on the '86 Flat tracker, Tanja on the '72 golden ironhead and parked my leaking '67 ironhead and won the "most unfriendly environmental price" just kidding. Thanks to Onno for making some pictures of our bikes, unfortunately we didn't have any time to take pictures by ourselves. See you in 2013!

1982 SE Racing " PK RIPPER " by Hoodlum Society

Another Old School BMX bike, this time a '82 PK Ripper formerly owned by Ronnie v/d Elsen. He made that sealed bearing headset 30 years ago! This bike was used as our lakejumping bike for years and was in very bad shape, it turned out pretty nice I think.

Workshop Wednesday #20: Speed-O-Meter for the '67 Ironhead

Very PERIOD INCORRECT but I don't care, I want to see my speed/distance and don't want speeding tickets or running out of gas. Bike computer with cable cause wireless won't work on motorcycles, very accurate, even with Max Speed so 60 mls/hour is record today. Its very tiny so you don't see it at first, it works so thats fine with me. This is the last Wednesday Workshop for this winter, Spring is in the air.

2012 Harley-Davidson Weekend Aarle-Rixtel aka "Liberator Show"

We have three projects going to the LIBERATOR SHOW this weekend in Aarle-Rixtel our hometown. Hope to see you there for some free stickers, well you can pay with beer if you want to. Another BMX Old School project finsished at Hoodlum Society: 1983 Redline PL20, former owned by my brother. Frame and fork needed some attention and parts were all in stock so didn't have to buy parts this time.

Workshop Wednesday #19: Before and After 1972 Ironhead

The 1972 is almost done, couple of small things like the brake forward control, seat, kicker pedal and some cosmetic things but its time to put some miles on it this summer. Duane Ballard is working on the seat right now. Hope you like the transformation from the Red Devil into Boyd's Hoodlum Society B-bike.

Workshop Wednesday #18: Gastank for the '67 Ironhead

Tank mounted on the '67 Ironhead, aftermarked ribbed mustang tank, scotchbrite finish with 2K clearcoat and chrome Hoodlum Society stickers. New petcock and Lowbrow clear fuel lines and a nice custom flamed gas filter in chrome. Coated the inside of the tank with Kreem so it will be ready for gas.

Customer 0000002 had a small job for us today, getting some racks out of the old Vito so in return my brother Bart of www.fatbmx.com did a short photoshoot at the Hoodlum Society workshop. Thanks bro!

Workshop Wednesday #17: Bars & Seat

'72 Ironhead is almost ready for the "Liberator show" end of this month. Cut 1 inch of the Universal MX handlebars, new Bilwell Kung Fu natural 7/8" grips, Biltwell Slimline tuck&roll seat and working on the forward controls right now, 3 weeks before the show and ready for a test ride....Fuck Deadlines!

Period Incorrect

I know, having a 12V output on a Ironhead is not cool, but I rather be uncool and start my bike with a push on the button than kill my already fucked up knees. Use it to charge the battery and I can even use it to charge the Iphone or TomTom, sometimes period correct is not the best way to go.

Workshop Wednesday #16: Biltwell Moto Goggles with Face Mask.

Biltwell moto goggles are awesome, I never liked to ride with goggles on choppers but after seeing Rouzer Rob, Keith Mulligan, McGoo and others riding the EDR with them I kinda dig them now. Very comfortable and keeps dust/rain/mud out of my contact lenses all the time. These anti-fog lenses are really working and today I fitted an Oakley Face Mask from the early 80's. You might not know these face masks but they were the 70's full face helmets in Motocross and BMX. The Oakley is using the middle hole in the Biltwell goggle frame and made two new holes to a perfect fit. The Scott Face mask will fit the two outside holes and need some adjusting on the inside ones, no big deal. I rode these masks in the 80's and will ride with them again in the near future. Biltwell goggles in stock now in Silver, White or Black frames and dark replacement lenses are on its way from the Biltwell headquaters.
