Workshop Wednesday #1 : new season started today.
Workshop Wednesday Season: Winter 2012/2013 Issue #1.
Well I started the new season with a bigger project as expected. The left Biltwell Mushman peg was mounted in an hour but the right hand side is a different story. The pegmount is mounted on the chaincover and that means you have to take the brakepump/exhaust/brakepedal off first and ofcourse one bolt of the exhaust going into the cylinder broke off so thats a nice way to start the new sessions. Riding days are over in Holland so not really in a hurry and have some time to do more modifications. Brakepedal will be the same as the shifter with a GT BMX old school threaded peg, some speedholes/cuttings for a nicer look.

Jeffrey Herlings MX2 World Champion, only 17 years old, lives 5 miles from our workshop so we went to the party and got a nice Twin Air crown. I said he wouldn't make it but luckily I was wrong this time, respect for the kid and see you again next year with your second World title MX2.

Belts by Shea
Belts by Shea Nyquist shipped some nice belts to the Hoodlum Society headquarters. Shea is an awesome craftsman and made these belts by hand, HS logo, Aarle-Rixtel Holland, Vans Waffle sole all in one thick leather top quality belt. I'm stoked to have one of the first "Belts by Shea" in Europe but that won't be for long, check his site at Belts by Shea and order a one of a kind USA belt.

Biltwell Mushman pegs
Just got the first production of the Biltwell Mushman pegs for my Flattracker and they look awesome. I was at the Biltwell office when the 3D mock up was ready months ago and they are even better than expected. Motocross style like "Harvey" in "On any sunday", had to cut the pegmount and welded some old footrest so it would fit. Welding skill are in bad shape after a long holiday break but it will do the job for now.

BMX wheels for customer #0000001 Andy Z.
Customer #0000001 Andy Z. from Germany want some new "steez on his whip" so we build this nice wheelset for him. Not an easy job with dual size Profile cassette hubs, crosslaced rims and only 1 spoke length but of course it was a piece of cake for us. Pick up is Thursday, he will be happy.

DB-Killer for the Dodge Magnum
Our Dodge Magnum Hemi is loud as fuck so I made some DB-killers today. It's Sunday and people are still on holiday so I decided to go the hard way and not the easy way this time. I could have ask a friend to make a flange on the lathe but made one with some pieces of pipe and a Biltwell motorcycle pipe kit. It worked out really good, its more quite than before.
Back from the South of France
Made some FLAKEKINGS promotion in the South of France, they will be busy as hell next week! Well, the only interesting vehicle/bike I saw was a new Iron H-D Sporty so I guess it was a waste of time. We had a good time and the Dodge Ram 1500 brought us home: 1047km in 10h30min, not bad at all.

Brake a leg #3
Brake a leg #3: Mercedes 230E, no real stopping power needed but its nice to stop for some red lights.

Brake a leg #2: Ready to go...
Brake a leg #2: The Dodge Magnum needs new brakes in the front, the standard pieces of shit are not able to stop the 360 Horsepower so its time to make some "stoppies". Ceramic Formel brakepads and Brembo made Zimmerman 345mm ventilated and drilled discs will do the job...First holiday, than a few hours of work when we are back...,it turned out to be only an hour for two brake discs! Can't give you test results right now cause I need to "brake in" for 150mls.

Brake a leg.
Rearbrake is working again, it was hard to find out what brake it was. Took the brakepads as a guideline and found out they were from a Kawasaki Z250 from the late 70's. Okay its a Japanese brake but so are your forks I guess. Replaced the rubbers, new oil and even bought new brakepads on the Dutch Graiglist.

Nothing beats a Motocross Session.
That's right: Nothing beats a Motocross session with my brother Bart at the hometrack in Hellmond. Nice weather today so the track was real nice, no dust, no mud, just perfect. Motocross rules.
1987 VINCENT FRAMES Mini BMX Cruiser
1987 VINCENT FRAMES MINI CRUISER, only 3 in the world! My last BMX Old School build, have about 30 bikes now so don't have space for another one, its 1 out, no in at the moment. Also no inspiration for a bike that I don't have already. This one came out very nice, I hate 24" BMX Cruisers but this one is close to a 20"...

Brake problems for the '72
Brake problems Ironhead 1972: Brakelight didn't work so I took another bike to Bottrop, kinda lucky that it didn't work cause Andy or me shouldn't have had a working brake on our trip to Germany... It wasn't the brake light switch, after mounting a new one it still didn't work, the plunger of the "not original" brake pump got stucked in the reservoir so it didn't move the oil to the caliper. After cleaning and polishing all the parts it was working again and now the brake works perfect. I need two brakes on my bikes!
